About this app

Messina Smartpole is a free application that shows real-time bus arrival information for public transport stops in Messina, Italy. It is developed independently and is not affiliated with ATM Messina SPA.

Data we collect

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.

Location (GPS): Used only on your device to find nearby bus stops. Your location is never sent to us or any third party.
App settings (theme, search radius): Stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. Never transmitted.

Third-party services

ATM Messina SPA: The app fetches real-time arrival data from their public smartpoles system (atmmessinaspa.it). Your stop queries are sent to their servers. Please refer to ATM Messina's own privacy policy for details.
OpenStreetMap: Map tiles are loaded from tile.openstreetmap.org. Standard web request data (IP address, timestamp) may be logged by OSM in accordance with their privacy policy.

Permissions

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Required to detect your position and show nearby bus stops. You can deny this permission - the Search tab will still work fully.
INTERNET: Required to fetch live arrival times from ATM Messina.

Data retention

No personal data is retained. All location data is processed in memory and discarded when the app is closed.
